Terms of Sale
Terms of sale, delivery, and refunds
Version 1.0 · Effective on the date paid checkout opens. Published 17 September 2026. These terms govern the purchase of the paid EmployerCost widget packages. They do not apply to the free calculator, the free public embed, the state pages, or any other free part of this site.
Current status: paid checkout is not open. No order can be placed and no payment can be collected on this site today. This page is published in advance so that the exact terms are readable before, not after, any checkout is ever enabled. If you reached a payment page that does not match this page, do not pay; write to partners@employercost.com first.
1. Seller
The seller is Covo Franco Digital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Contact: partners@employercost.com. “We”, “us”, and “EmployerCost” mean that company. “You” means the person or entity placing the order.
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full card number. Your payment is also subject to Stripe’s own terms.
2. Eligibility
These packages are sold to businesses and to people acting for a business, not to consumers for personal use. By ordering you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are authorised to bind the entity named on the order, and that you control, or are authorised to publish on, the website domain you name in the order.
3. What is sold
Two one-time packages. Both are digital. Neither is a subscription, neither auto-renews, and no card is stored for future charges.
3.1 Standard self-service package — US$29
A single ZIP containing one self-contained JavaScript widget bundle carrying EmployerCost branding and the visible “Estimate by EmployerCost” attribution link, an INSTALL.md installation guide, and a manifest.json file recording the licence and the SHA-256 hash of every delivered file. The bundle carries the source-backed 2026 planning dataset for the 50 states and the District of Columbia, renders in Shadow DOM, runs entirely in the visitor’s browser, makes no network request, and transmits nothing about the visitor.
The standard package includes no logo, colour, or heading personalisation, no installation assistance, no revision, no quality-assurance pass, and no custom formulas or rates. You install it yourself.
3.2 Personalized branded installation — US$99
The same widget built for one approved domain and one compatible page or shared template, personalised with one PNG logo, one HEX colour, and one heading that you supply, delivered as an attribution-free bundle, together with an installation guide, one pre-launch desktop and mobile verification by us, up to 30 minutes of installation assistance, and one visual revision capped at 15 minutes.
This package is sold only after a compatibility check. We confirm in writing that your site and page are compatible and we set a delivery due date before any payment is requested. If the check shows that your site is not compatible, we do not sell you the package.
3.3 Excluded from both packages
Managed deployment, access to your hosting or credentials, additional pages beyond the one licensed, CMS, theme, or plugin engineering, hosting, analytics, lead capture, CRM, custom calculations or custom tax rates, advisory work, later rebranding, support after acceptance, data updates for 2027 and later years, and any promise about traffic, conversions, or business results. Additional work requires a separate written quote, separately accepted and separately paid.
4. Price, currency, and tax
Prices are stated in US dollars and charged in US dollars. If your card issuer converts the charge into another currency, the conversion and any related fee are between you and your issuer. Prices are exclusive of any sales, use, VAT, GST, or similar tax. Where we are required to collect such a tax it is shown at checkout and added to the price; otherwise you are responsible for any tax you owe on the purchase. Withholding is not permitted: amounts payable to us are net of any withholding tax.
5. When the order is formed
Displaying a price on this site is an invitation to order, not an offer. The contract is formed only when payment is confirmed by Stripe and we issue the order confirmation. Each order records the exact version of these terms accepted, by its SHA-256 hash, together with the package, the price, the currency, and the licensed domain. The version recorded on your order is the version that governs your purchase, even if this page changes later.
6. Delivery
6.1 Standard package — US$29
Delivery is automatic. Once Stripe confirms payment, the package is prepared and made available for download from a private, order-bound page. This normally happens within minutes and in every case within one business day of confirmed payment. If it has not been delivered within one business day, you may cancel and receive a full refund under section 8.
6.2 Personalized package — US$99
Delivery is within five business days of the later of confirmed payment and our receipt of complete, usable inputs from you — the PNG logo, the HEX colour, the heading, the approved domain, and the approved page. The exact due date is stated in your order confirmation and that stated date governs. The clock stops while we are waiting on inputs, approvals, or answers from you.
The 30 minutes of installation assistance and the one 15-minute visual revision must be requested within 30 calendar days of delivery. Unused assistance and an unused revision expire after that and are not refundable or exchangeable.
6.3 Download window
The private download link stays available for 30 calendar days from delivery. Download and keep your own copy. The files you have downloaded, and the licence for that version, do not expire when the link closes. If you lose your files, write to us: we will re-issue a download of the same version you bought, at no charge, for as long as we hold it, but we do not guarantee to hold it indefinitely.
6.4 Business days
A business day is Monday to Friday excluding United States federal holidays.
7. Your duty to check
Check the delivered package promptly. Report a missing or corrupt file, a wrong domain or licence, a hash that does not match the manifest, or a reproducible defect that is inside the scope described in section 3, within 7 calendar days of delivery, to partners@employercost.com, with enough detail for us to reproduce it. We will correct a validated in-scope defect, or provide a functional replacement, at no charge. Reporting a defect never converts the US$29 package into the US$99 package and never adds installation help or personalisation to it.
8. Refunds
Subject to any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, we give a full refund in these cases:
- a duplicate or otherwise erroneous charge;
- we cannot make an intact package matching your order available to you;
- a defect inside the scope of section 3 that we validate and for which we cannot provide a functional replacement;
- the US$29 package is not delivered within one business day of confirmed payment;
- the US$99 package is not delivered by the due date stated in your order confirmation, for a reason that is ours and not a wait on your inputs, and you do not accept a new date we propose;
- for the US$99 package only, you cancel in writing before we have begun the personalisation work.
Where we have begun but not completed the US$99 personalisation work and you cancel for a reason that is not one of those above, we refund the part not yet performed and retain a reasonable amount for work already done, itemised to you in writing.
These are not grounds for a refund: a change of mind after you have downloaded the package; an incompatibility we disclosed before the sale; missing permissions on your own site or platform; incorrect installation by you or by a third party; an expectation of personalisation, assistance, or features that section 3 excludes; disagreement with the planning estimates, tax rates, or methodology, which are published at Methodology and Sources and can be inspected before purchase; and any absence of traffic, conversions, or other business results.
A full refund revokes your licence and any further download. You must stop using the widget and remove it from your site.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. We initiate the refund within 5 business days of approving it; how long it then takes to appear on your statement is set by your card issuer or bank, typically a further 5 to 10 business days.
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us before opening a dispute with your bank. We would rather refund you than argue with a card network.
9. Licence
On full payment you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and display the delivered version of the widget on the single domain named in your order, on your own pages. You may modify the bundle for your own installation.
You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish the bundle or its dataset as a standalone file or as part of a product, template, theme, or plugin offered to others; install it on a domain other than the one licensed; remove the EmployerCost attribution from the US$29 standard package; or present the estimates as tax, legal, accounting, insurance, payroll, or HR advice. Additional domains require additional licences.
We retain all intellectual property in the widget, the code, the dataset, and the EmployerCost name and marks. Nothing here transfers ownership.
10. Nature of the output — no advice, no warranty of results
The widget produces general planning estimates for US employer cost. It is not payroll, tax, legal, insurance, accounting, or HR compliance advice, and it is not a substitute for your payroll provider, CPA, insurance broker, legal counsel, or state agency. Actual costs vary by employer-specific state unemployment tax rate, workers compensation class code, carrier underwriting, claims history, experience modifier, benefits plan design, local rules, industry, employee classification, and annual state and federal changes. See the full Disclaimer, the Methodology, and the Source ledger.
Rates and thresholds change. The delivered bundle carries a fixed dataset year, stated in its manifest, and does not update itself. You are responsible for deciding whether that dataset is still appropriate for your use and for what you publish on your own site.
Except as expressly stated in these terms, the packages are provided “as is”, and we disclaim all other warranties to the fullest extent the law allows, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the widget will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work on every platform, theme, or content management system.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to a purchase, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to the amount you actually paid us for that purchase. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Privacy
Personal data you give us in connection with an order is handled as described in our Privacy policy. The widget itself makes no network request and transmits nothing about the visitors who use it on your site.
13. Changes to these terms
We may publish a new version of this page at any time. A new version applies only to orders placed after it is published. Your order is bound to the version whose hash was recorded when you accepted it, and we will provide that exact version on request.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. The state and federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, and both parties consent to venue there. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live, or gives you rights that cannot be waived, this section does not take those rights away.
15. General
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your order without our written consent; we may assign it as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms, together with your order confirmation and the delivered manifest, are the entire agreement about the purchase and supersede any prior discussion, quote, or marketing copy on this site.
